Your Marvelous
Body
Your body, the repository of a thousand marvels, is
a masterpiece of God’s handiwork. It is more
wonderful than any machine that man’s ingenuity has
ever invented.
Your brain consists of 10 billion cells and is
capable of holding up some 15 trillion separate bits
of information if developed to the full. This is
more than all the knowledge contained by the 10
million books in the biggest library on the earth,
the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. The
problem is, because of mental indolence, we do not
use a hundredth part of our mental capacity.
It is said that one scientist using his brain can
wipe the whole city out of existence or send a
300-ton object orbiting around the sun just by
pushing a button—a feat that not all the combined
muscular strength of the more than 6 billion people
can do.
Your heart, a little organ only as big as your
closed fist, does a prodigious amount of work equal
to the lifting of some 120 tons one foot a day.
And what shall I say more, for our limited space
would not allow me to tell of the 707 arteries, 71
bones, 79 convolutions, 433 muscles, 230 nerves, 403
veins, etc, etc. Any book on human anatomy and
physiology will tell you more of the other organs of
your wonderful body.
This is the reason why God gave you instructions on
how to care for this most wonderful of all machines.
On the contrary, He gave us these injunctions so
that we may live in an optimal health and lead an
abundant vibrant life.
Our loving Father who knows best how to care for
these bodies of ours does not want us to live in
misery because of our “lack of knowledge”.
