PJ Old town bus station was transformed into a health
awareness zone. The day started with the opening of the event by the
local government representatives and the main organizers, the team
from the Petaling Jaya Chinese Church (PJCC).
The local government has specified a sum of money
to the Petaling Jaya Chinese Church in order to carry out community
health activities during the next 4 weeks in the area near the
church. This event is another means where we can showcase the
lifestyle of the Adventists and at the same time work hand and hand
with the government!
It started with a health screening where people could
know their current body weight, body mass index and body fat, as
well as blood glucose and blood pressure, after going through all
these tests, they were counselled by a group of health professionals
that helped them to understand their current health condition and
recommended the ideal lifestyle practices to prevent and or manage
their condition. An approximate of 120 people availed this service
during this event

For the whole week the PJCC volunteers visited people in
the area of Petaling Jaya house to house, where they continued to do
blood pressure checking, natural remedies such as charcoal and
hydrotherapy and massage therapy. Every evening they culminated the
day with a health talk on the NEWSTART health principles.
Praise God indeed for the effort of all the volunteers and the
great things that during this week was able to accomplish.
