Taman Saga, Ampang: Praise God! A health program for the community
at Taman Saga Ampang was organized on 22nd May 2011.
This program was organized by Adventist Community Service under the
leadership of Mrs. Leong Fai (PEM Women’s Ministry Director). There
were different types of activities during the said event like Health
screening, First Aid training, Cooking demo, Knot tying and Charobix.
The program started at 9.30AM until 3.00PM. The Health screening
program was conducted by the Adventist Community Health Centre(ACC)
which consist of different sections such as Body Mass Index (BMI),
Blood Pressure, Glucose and also Health counseling.
Cooking demo was conducted by Health Promoter Paisly Chin. She
taught them few simple and healthy recipes. The Polaris Pathfinder
Club of Petaling Jaya English SDA Church conducted the first aid
class and knot tying class to the public as well as ectures
especially on emergency situation during mountain climbing and
hiking were also included. Charobix or Community Health Aerobix
Class was led by Medical Missionary graduates, Evelyn Johny and
Tabby Andrews. People had fun during the exercise especially with
the charobix music. There were 70 people benefited in this program.
