David Raja the Health Promoter in Pontian presented an
anti-smoking awareness program at an elite secondary school—SMK Dato
Penggawa Barat Pontian on July 14, 2010. A total of 57 all secondary
four students attended the program. The school authority given us
one hour and we fully made use of the one hour. David used 40
minutes for presentation and our team did a demonstration on the
effects of smoking through the use of “live smoking Sam” to a
surprised audience. After the demonstration there is a question and
answer session and brother Tan Kok Chin gave some advice to
students. We took the names, contact numbers and email addresses of
students for further follow up. David gave his email contact to the
students and some students did write in for more information.
