“There are now close to 60,000 Myanmar refugees who have
made Malaysia their home after fleeing the oppression of their own
government, they are living under poverty as well as oppression and
fear of being caught and be sent to prison or worst, be sent back
home.” It was the words of Mung San, a Seventh Day Adventist Myanmar
Volunteer who work tirelessly alongside UN in order to better his
fellow countrymen & women.
Seeing their need, the Health Ministry of PEM together
with Penang Adventist Hospital and Dr. Ang Dental Clinic conducted a
1-and-a-haf day Dental outreach on 27 & 28 February 2010. A Dental
group consisting of 2 Dentists, 1 Nurse & a Dental assistant
travelled from Penang in order to help in rendering service to this
group of people; working tirelessly together with the Medical
Missionaries who are currently under training at the Adventist
Community Health Centre. Aside from this event, the church has also
contributed their medicines and a regular supply of rice for the
Myanmar Volunteers. “I am glad that our church in Malaysia are
supporting our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ as there are
about 200-300 Seventh Day Adventists in the Zomi tribe alone,” says
bro. Mung San.
Praise the Lord for the wonderful opportunity to serve
Him during that day. Everyone in the team felt blessed by their good
act of love.
