The Klang Valley Health Expo 2008 was the first
event organized by the Adventist Community Health
Center, (ACC) in collaboration with Seventh - day
Adventist church in Malaysia in order to expose to
the general public the Adventists' lifestyle. This
was held on 6-7 July 2008 at an up-market shopping
mall called Sunway Pyramid.


The opening ceremony held on July 6th at 12 noon was
officiated by Y.B. Teresa Kok, Selangor Senior
Executive Councilor and State Assemblywoman for
Kinrara. Each participant enjoyed a series of Health
Screening such as BMI, body fat analysis, blood
pressure, glucose and cholesterol test (optional)
where all data was generated by a computer and was
presented to the doctors and nurses who did the
health counseling.
The Health Expo emphasized on the 8 treasures of
healthy living namely, NUTRITION, EXERCISE, WATER,
SUNLIGHT, TEMPERANCE, AIR, REST, & TRUST in Divine
power, also known as NEWSTART. Live demonstrations
on vegan cooking, hydrotherapy and exercise, as well
as exhibitions on the effects of smoking and alcohol
were on display.


























A 3-minute step test was also made available to
those participants who wanted to know their fitness
level; lastly, people enjoyed a time to relax with
the anti-stress chair massage team! Not forgetting
the children who had their own corner and different
health activities and crafts were made available for
them.
The result of the one-and-a-half day Klang Valley
Health Expo was beyond expectations:
