10-13 November, Kuching Sarawak – a nine-member health
volunteers arrived in Kuching for a 3-day Medical & Dental outreach
among the Iban community in Kampung Rayu & Belian respectively. The
team, composed of a Medical Doctor, a Dentist, Nurses, Dietician and
two other volunteers spent three days giving free medical check up,
free medication and free tooth extraction among the community folks.
A health lecture on proper teeth care, Diabetes and Healthy
Lifestyle was also conducted during the night in one of the long
houses.
Aside from serving the community, the team also enjoyed
a good R&R by visiting the Kuching town, a walk at the wildlife
centre which was a few steps from where they were staying; the group
enjoyed the presence of orang-utans in the area as well as some wild
animals. They also had a chance to take a dip at a crystal-clear
river nearby as well as taste the most awesome fruits such as
mangosteen, durians, dragon fruits, jackfruits, and so much more. It
was indeed a wonderful visit!
The team would like to thank all the donors and
volunteers for this good effort!
Praise the Lord indeed.
