Charcoal Therapy
Taken from the book "The Healing Wonders
of Charcoal by Severino S. Payp, M.H.Sc. M.P.H
The Charcoal Drink
The internal use of charcoal powder is called
charcoal drink. Charcoal drink is made of charcoal
powder diluted in a glass of drinking water
according to dosage for medical purposes.
The charcoal drink is tasteless. The taste of
drinking water when mixed with charcoal powder does
not change. There is no difference in taste between
a glass of clear drinking water and a glass of water
with charcoal powder. The only difference is the
color. Since charcoal is black, it is understood
that your feces will also be black. But the urine
will be as clear as water.
Physiological Reactions
It is important to know and understand that charcoal
is indicated for diarrhea. It is expected therefore
that the normal result of drinking charcoal powder
after three to four days is constipation. If
constipation takes place, eat ripe papayas everyday
or take one tablespoonful of olive oil, morning and
evening. However, in some chronic disorders like
cancer and blood impurities, diarrheal conditions
may take place within three to five days after the
first dose. This condition may continue within three
to four days. If this condition takes place you need
not worry, this means that your body is responding
positively to the treatment. This is natures way of
cleansing the internal organs.

Charcoal adsorbs food poorly. However,
food interferes with the adsorption of charcoal when
it is taken during meal time. For high
effectiveness, it is recommended that charcoal drink
be taken one hour before meals or one hour after
meals. In emergency cases, charcoal drink can be
taken any time. It has no side effects, no danger of
overdose, and no known contraindications. It is safe
for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and nursing
babies.
