Life’s Pauses
I needed an escape; and when I do, the best place
that comes into my mind is Cameron Highlands!
 I mean
what can I say…ahhh….
waking up in the morning serenaded by the lovely
chirping of the birds, the cool breeze of air that
brings just enough tingling sensation into your bone,
the rustling of the trees as they danced in the sunlit
air and creates a golden hue on their leaves, the
aroma of dew-drenched air permeating into the open-air
room, the thought of tasting that oh-superb fruit
scones which we discovered not too long ago, the idea
of waking up anytime you want as you are not pressured
to do anything, the sight of the unending greens as
far as your eyes could see…
 You
could say that just thinking about it is more than
enough to revitalize my downcast spirit brought about
by living in the hustle and bustle of city life such
as Kuala Lumpur.
 There is
an increasing amount of stressed people living in the
world today. In Malaysia, according to the Minister of
Health as quoted by the Start Newspaper (June 2008);
there is at least 1 in 4 people who are suffering from
mental stress everyday! To add insult to injury, a
Chinese newspaper reported this June (2008) that in
Lukut, a 13 year old boy has become the youngest boy
in the country to die of heart attack; he died while
having his tuition.
Sad but true.
We do need life’s pauses every now and then; a total
physical and mental rest in order to protect ourselves
from the many stresses of life.
So next time you are overloaded with fear, anxiety and
worries…take a drive up to your favorite spot…spend a
weekend by yourself or with a loved one and just PAUSE
– you will be surprised how much it can help you in
your well-being.
