NUTRITION: The food
we eat makes up who we are. It helps build healthy,
vibrant people. A balanced diet provides all essential
nutrients for growth and maintenance of the body and a
deficiency of these important nutrients will result to
disease and at times, premature death. |

EXERCISE: It is the
elixir of our energy. Regular exercise is not only a
preventive measure; it also works to maintain health
at its best. It helps lowers blood pressure,
strengthens bones, gives you more energy and a sense
of well-being. Most of all, it helps prevent many
chronic diseases. |

WATER: Is the most
precious of all liquids; it is an indispensable
component to optimal health, for example: 70% of total
body weight is water! The gray matter of the brain is
85% water! Blood is 83% water! Water is something
which we should not live without. |

SUNSHINE: Without
sunshine the human race cannot survive. All life on
earth depends on the sun and life would cease without
it. It supports both plant and animal existence and is
a vital ingredient of our environment alongside
atmosphere, climate, water, soil, and vegetation. |

TEMPERANCE:
According to Webster dictionary, temperance is a
“moderation in action, thought or feeling.” It teaches
us to get rid of everything that is harmful and to use
in moderation that which is healthful.
Alcohol-drinking, cigarette smokings, the use of
caffeine are some habits that a person needs to get
rid of in order to live a healthy life. |

AIR: The activator
of our vitality. According to the American Lung
Association’s motto, “Air is a matter of life and
breath”. We need high quality, fresh & pure, clean air
for health. The life-giving oxygen molecules in fresh
air should be unpolluted. |

REST: Is the
restorer of life. Sleep is a type of rest which is
much needed in this modern society; it is important in
restoring our energy and in maintaining health. A good
8 hours of sleep is needed to restore our body into
its optimum health everyday. A 15 minute “power naps”
in the afternoons are a great restorer of brain cells. |

TRUST: Belief or
faith in a religious setting has been shown to have a
significant benefit in order to be healthy.
Individuals with strong religious faith report higher
levels of life satisfaction, greater personal
happiness, and fewer negative psychosocial
consequences of traumatic life events. It is then
important to place our belief and trust in that which
is reliable! |
